Phoneopia ("we", "us", "the app") is a messaging application that provides text chat, voice and video calls, voice notes, status updates, an AI assistant, and translation features. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using Phoneopia you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: your phone number and a display name you provide during sign-up (verified by OTP).
Profile data: optional profile photo, status message, and "about" text you choose to add.
Messages & media: the text, images, files, voice notes, and call metadata you send and receive, so they can be delivered to your chats.
Contacts: phone numbers you add as contacts within the app, used only to connect you with other Phoneopia users.
Device & technical data: a push-notification token, app version, device model, and basic logs needed for delivery, security, and troubleshooting.

2. How We Use Your Information

To deliver your messages, calls, and notifications.
To verify your account and keep it secure.
To provide optional features you choose to use — AI assistant replies, voice transcription, and translation.
To improve reliability and fix problems.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only:

With other users you communicate with (the content you send them).
With service providers that power core features, including Google Firebase (push notifications) and AI/transcription providers used solely to generate the assistant, transcript, or translation you requested.
Where required by law or to protect the safety of users.

4. Data Retention

Your messages and account data are kept while your account is active. You may delete chats from within the app. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, contact us at the email below.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, token-based authentication) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

6. Children

Phoneopia is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Your Choices

Edit or remove your profile photo, name, and status at any time.
Manage notification and privacy settings inside the app.
Request account and data deletion by emailing us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
